Gameplay Engineer

Crit Crew is a fully remote game studio from Würzburg, Germany. Having a strong focus on User Experience and Game Feel, we’re always looking for the extra edge to make our games feel more natural, easy to learn and joyful to play. As a studio we’ve established a hybrid approach of helping out clients with their projects and creating our own games.
That’s where you come into play! In order to boost our development team, we’re looking for awesome people who are passionate about making games together.

What you will be doing:

  • Work on in-house games and client game projects
  • Use your Unity skills to build robust gameplay systems and editor tools
  • As part of a small dev-team, you’ll get to dive into lots of different areas of game development
  • Grow together with us - as a team. You don’t have to be proficient in everything, but you should be happy to share your knowledge and educate others as well as ask for help
  • Take advantage of flexible working hours - with the commitment from our side to put the team’s wellbeing first, avoid crunch and create a healthy work atmosphere

Requirements:

  • Experience in game development with Unity
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Available online during core hours of 10am to 4pm CET.
  • Enthusiasm for creating, analyzing and playing games

Bonus:

  • Shipped game or app projects
  • Experience with C++, Typescript, Python
  • Experience with performance optimization in Unity (for mobile platforms)
  • Experience with skeletal animations (e.g. Spine)
  • Experience with VR development
  • An eye for UI, UX and keeping the player in mind
